چکیده

The parabolic-profile model for the singularity spectrum f(α) of fully-developed turbulence (FDT) is pursued further. This model is shown to provide not only considerable insight into the qualitative aspects of the intermittency problem but also the universal aspects associated with it. The parabolic-profile model also affords, unlike the multi-fractal model, an analytical calculation of probability distribution functions of flow-variable gradients in several FDT cases.

Intermittency in the Enstrophy Cascade of Two-dimensional Fully-developed Turbulence: Universal Features

Intermittency (externally induced) in the two-dimensional (2D) enstrophy cascade is shown to be able to maintain a finite enstrophy along with a vorticity conservation anomaly. Intermittency mechanisms of three-dimensional (3D) energy cascade and 2D enstrophy cascade in fully-developed turbulence (FDT) seem to have some universal features. The parabolic-profile approximation (PPA) for the singu...

Parametric study of a viscoelastic RANS turbulence model in the fully developed channel flow

One of the newest of viscoelastic RANS turbulence models for drag reducing channel flow with polymer additives is studied in different flow and rheological properties. In this model, finitely extensible nonlinear elastic-Peterlin (FENE-P) constitutive model is used to describe the viscoelastic effect of polymer solution and turbulence model is developed in the k-ϵ-(ν^2 ) ̅-f framework. The geome...

2 2 Ja n 20 05 Semi - classical twists for sl 3 and sl 4 boundary r − matrices of Cremmer - Gervais type

We obtain explicit formulas for the semi-classical twists deforming coalgebraic structure of U(sl3) and U(sl4). In the rank 2 or 3 the corresponding universal R−matrices quantize the boundary r−matrices of Cremmer-Gervais type defining Lie Frobenius structures on the maximal parabolic subalgebras in sln.

Mechanistic Modeling of Organic Compounds Separation from Water via Polymeric Membranes

A mathematical model considering mass and momentum transfer was developed for simulation of ethanol dewatering via pervaporation process. The process involves removal of water from a water/ethanol liquid mixture using a dense polymeric membrane. The model domain was divided into two compartments including feed and membrane. For a description of water transport in ...
